Q1: What color is the stain used for the spreader bar?

A: When shown by itself, it is darker than it is when shown with the stand (HIB05). The main picture on HIB03 is closer to the color of the spreader bar. The lights used make a difference on the photo.

A: This hammock's bed or area where hammock user would lie measures 6 ft. 10 in. Long x 5 ft. 5 in. Wide. With closer contact to the beach, choose the polyester - better resistance to the outer elements.

Poor quality hammock

Sad to report that the quality of workmanship on this XXL hammock is very poor. We had it out for 3 months and used it, only occassionally, then carefully placed it in indoor storage all winter, upon taking it out this second summer after only two days of laying in it, the ropes have broken at the point where they come out of the wooden 'stretchers'. The circles cut in the wood where the ropes run through seem to be rough and have rubbed the ropes until they severed. I had not noticed the roughness of the wood before I started looking for the culprit that broke the ropes. I am surprised at the low quality contruction for the price I paid. I thought I was getting something that would last for years, not months. On a positive note, the metal frame is good and has held up well.
